The Giuseppe Uncini Artwork Archive, established in 2012, aims to protect and enhance the work of Giuseppe Uncini.
It promotes cultural initiatives, collaborates with scholars and participates in the realization of monographic and collective exhibitions, in public and private spaces, arranging the loan of its own works and those of private collectors.
It takes care of the archiving of works and historical material, publications related to exhibitions and events, books, press reviews, photographic material and letters.
Starting from a careful analysis of the information stored, an ad hoc database has been prepared for an optimal rationalization of the data:
This software solution made it possible to organize the data, make it clearly intelligible and publish it in the online catalogue raisonné.
After the publication of the catalogue raisonné, edited by Bruno Corà (Silvana Editoriale, 2008), the Giuseppe Uncini Artwork Archive has continued the scientific work of research, cataloguing, authenticating and coordinating exhibitions and publications of the Maestro’s works. The numerous data collected in these years have made it necessary to supplement the Catalogue Raisonné of 2008 by means of an online publication: thanks to its nature as a work in progress, this will allow periodic updates to make the work of Giuseppe Uncini and the scientific activity of the archive more precise, complete and accessible to the public.
Thanks to the competence and seriousness of OFFICINEBIT.CH, the Giuseppe Uncini Artwork Archive has been able to develop and make use of a versatile and functional artist archive software, able to interface with iconographic and textual content to constantly update the entire work of the Maestro with a scientific and precise method.
In addition to the archiving program, OFFICINEBIT.CH has been able to develop the website of the Archive with a simple and clear structure, which can be consulted immediately by any user, and which can be updated in the many sections that every artist archive needs to have in order to preserve and promote the artist’s activity.
