The archive of Arnaldo Pomodoro’s studio has developed over the years.
Since before the foundation of the Arnaldo Pomodoro Foundation, the staff of the studio has taken care of the punctual filing of the Master's works. During the years we have kept track of all the activities: drawings, multiples, jewellery, graphics, design studies, applied arts and scenic projects and their bibliographic and documentary equipment. The software solution has been developed based on the needs and tailored for the versatile Artist.
The vastness of the archive reflects the vastness of Pomodoro's artistic practices: inside it you can find not only materials related to the sculptural work, but also graphics, multiples, drawings, jewellery, design studies, theatrical settings and applied arts. In addition, notes and autograph manuscripts, as well as correspondence with artists and important personalities from the world of culture, are preserved and digitised. Particularly valuable is also the rich collection of press clippings and films documenting the work of the Master.
The archive collects the entire corpus of materials that have accompanied and marked the work and activity of Arnaldo Pomodoro and documents his creative journey in his national and international relations with movements, institutions and exponents of art and culture.
By the will of Arnaldo Pomodoro, it was built over time by the historical staff of his collaborators following step by step his work in the various phases and in the different fields of research.
Today it is a reality in progress, structured and recognized and represents a living tool for the knowledge, understanding and cataloguing of the artist’s works and, at the same time, a source of information and data useful for the artistic and cultural events of the second twentieth century in Italy.

Bitta Leonetti
One sculpture, many variants
The handling of sculptures requires special attention because one has to consider that, for each model, several specimens can be made, almost always characterised by independent collecting histories.
Bibliographic citations and sources
The library consists of approximately 10 000 volumes and the complete collection of the artist's exhibition catalogues (about 150 of the solo exhibitions and about 500 of the group exhibitions), as well as a large number of magazines and various publications. This very rich heritage is managed in the customised application, through a cataloguing of all known titles and a census of the physical materials in the library.
